Site Tours
Companies in and around Wareham Development's Aquatic Park Center in West Berkeley opened their doors to high school students to show them day-to-day operations, meet employees, and share their missions and visions. Every student participated in two 45-minute tours. The opportunity for students to see the innovative industries in their own backyards is crucial to building a bridge between industry and education.

The Berkeley Kitchens
The Berkeley Kitchens opened its doors in 2013 as a home for small- to medium-scale food businesses and artists. The building provides individually tailored kitchen rentals that are outfitted with hoods and sinks. Located at the corner of 8th and Carleton Streets in West Berkeley, our historic building was originally home to the Standard Die & Tool Company. Later, the building housed the R. Lang Roll-Away Screen Door Company, and it was used as a wildlife rehabilitation center. For forty years, the Nexus Wood Shop Collective operated out of the building. After the collective left, the building stood abandoned until 2010.
Today, The Berkeley Kitchens is the only collection of commercial rental kitchens specifically designed for food companies to have a kitchen to call their own. |

Glassbaby
The story of glassybaby started when Lee saw patients in need. In 1995 Lee Rhodes, a mother of three, was diagnosed with cancer for the third time. She remembers meeting patients in waiting rooms who could not afford day-to-day costs like bus fare, childcare, and groceries during chemotherapy. while entertaining friends, she drops a tea light into a roughly hewn glass cup, and the first glassybaby is born. In 2001 Lee sells them out of her garage and donates money from sales to charities helping cancer patients heal. In 2007 glassybaby established the White Light Fund to support cancer patients and families at the Collegiana, a patient family housing service at the University of Washington Medical Center. Weatherford BMW of Berkeley
At the foundation, or should we say chassis, of Weatherford BMW is a desire to bring drivers in the greater Berkeley, California area an assortment of new and used cars capable of transforming everyday commutes into something a little more extraordinary. This is why we sell BMW's extraordinary new models such as the X3, 228i, 340i, X5 and X1, and mint-condition used cars. But, that simply wasn't enough. So, in addition to our new and used car inventories renowned across Oakland, San Leandro and Richmond, CA, we decided to add a BMW service center commanded by a team of experts hand-picked for their knowledge, passion and promise to treat every car as if it was their own... And because we know there are still people set on doing it themselves: we added a genuine BMW parts shop.
